I'm Bella Park, the founder of the International Finance Network (IFN).

The economy and financial markets are closely intertwined with our daily lives. But are you well-informed about the current macroeconomic situation? The popularity of the finance industry continues to rise, and the barriers to entry are becoming increasingly high. I took my first step as a Sales professional in the S&T department of a foreign securities firm, but I often felt underprepared in terms of practical knowledge compared to my peers.

The common trait among well-prepared newcomers is their strong personal knowledge and the network they have through their associations. In domestic universities, especially, the network within academic societies is well-established, which has made me feel somewhat disadvantaged as an overseas university graduate. To support future finance professionals in similar situations, I established IFN. We must be prepared.

경제와 금융 시장은 우리의 생활과 밀접하게 연관되어 있습니다. 하지만 여러분은 현재 매크로 상황에 대해 잘 알고 계신가요? 금융업의 인기는 날로 높아지고 있으며, 그만큼 진입 장벽 또한 높아지고 있습니다. 외국계 증권사 S&T 부서에서 Sales로서의 첫 발을 내디뎠지만, 동기들에 비해 실무 준비와 지식이 부족하다고 느꼈습니다. 준비된 신입들의 공통점은 개인적인 지식이 뛰어나고, 학회나 네트워크를 가지고 있다는 점이었습니다. 국내 대학에서는 특히 학회 네트워크가 잘 구축되어 있기 때문에 해외 대학 출신으로서 다소의 설움을 느낀 적이 있습니다. 비슷한 상황에 처한 해외 대학 출신의 미래 금융인들을 위해 IFN을 설립하게 되었습니다. 우리는 준비되어있어야만 합니다. 글로벌 금융 리더의 꿈을 위하여, IFN과 함께하시지 않겠습니까?

Hello, my name is Geon Oh Kim, and I am the co-founder of IFN.

As a double major in Computer Science and Technological Systems Management at Stony Brook University, I have developed a deep interest in finance and the stock market. My journey began when I started investing in companies and studying market trends, which quickly became a passion of mine. The more I dived into analyzing industries and understanding market dynamics, the more I realized how fascinating and rewarding this field can be. In the midst of my studies in the U.S., together with our Founder, Bella Park, I recognized the need for a community that connects Korean students around the world who share a strong interest in finance.

Understanding the challenges and complexities of market analysis, we believed that bringing together like-minded individuals would provide an ideal platform for collective growth and knowledge enhancement. At IFN, we aim to break the stereotype that finance and investing are reserved only for those with an extensive knowledge base. We believe that anyone with a passion to learn and a specialized area of expertise has just as much potential to succeed in this field as anyone else. I look forward to connecting with you all and growing together as we embark on this journey of financial exploration and discovery.

SBU에서 컴퓨터 과학과 기술 경영을 복수 전공하며 금융과 주식 시장에 깊은 관심을 가지게 되었습니다. 기업에 투자하고 시장 동향을 공부하며 이 분야에 대한 열정을 키우게 되었고, 산업을 분석하고 시장의 역동성을 이해할수록 이 일이 얼마나 매력적이고 보람 있는지 깨달았습니다. 평소 금융에 관심이 많던 저는 미국에서 유학을 하던 도중 IFN의 창립자인 Bella Park과 함께 전 세계 한인 학생들을 연결할 수 있는 커뮤니티의 필요성을 절감했습니다. 시장 분석의 어려움과 복잡성을 이해하는 만큼, 비슷한 생각을 가진 사람들을 하나로 모아 함께 성장하고 지식을 넓히며 시너지 효과를 낼 수 있을 것이라 확신합니다.
